Brillo is the name for a company that focused on selling cleaning products for those hard-to-wash dishes — pots, pans, utensils, plates, you name it.
Their advertisements range from commercials to vintage print advertisements, like the one on the left. Not much else to say about it… and that in itself is what I personally find to be the issue.
On paper, the concept is simple but effective for it’s time. But, as always, time moves forward, and while the product still holds strong to this day, more cleaning products rise up to take its place, from Dawn’s soap to Palmolive. Even Mr. Clean and Scrub Daddy carries more relevancy than Brillo’s steel wool pad.
While a campaign is needed for Brillo, that will come at a later date. For now, I took it upon myself to create more modern advertisements that showcases Brillo’s capabilities — to an exaggerated degree.
Emphasizing the fact that Brillo gets the job done with its steel wool sponge, one must wonder: what else Brillo can clean? Well, below are examples of advertisements that I believe can give Brillo a much needed humorous personality — a product that cleans so good, you want to use it for everything… and I do mean, everything.
