BONBON NYC

BONBON NYC x

BonBon NYC was a Swedish candy store that I did a campaign on in my portfolio page. Over there, I tackled it’s lack of advertising from a business perspective, and created advertisements that can be placed anywhere in New York that will gain local attraction for such a foreign business. The graphic design over there was for its products.

Over here, it’s for their mascot — or lack there of.

To my understanding, there is no real mascot at BonBon NYC; however, a thing that BonBon NYC does that i’ve seen visiting that store is that on certain days, there will be a well-dressed man running the store and doing deliveries… a concept I thought was quite unheard of, and, in that regard, foreign.

Which had me thinking… what if that was the mascot?

Introducing:

The Candy Man!

Here, I incorporated photography into my graphic design, as a way to introduce a new mascot for them: the Candy Man, a mysterious figure who never shows his face… only the product. Focusing more on the principles of texture and contrast using the element of color, my goal for the advertisements was to both highlight the product while keeping his presence mysterious… only wishing the audience to explore what about the product draws him to it every time.
