Spotify is an online platform made for streaming mainly music and podcasts. Next other platforms like Apple Music and Soundcloud, Spotify stands as one of the biggest platforms for artists — both upcoming and current — to allow their music to be played upon.
Of course, even a platform like Spotify has its pros and cons. One of the major pros is that it allows freedom of control, customizing your listening experience with new recommendations to add to your playlist, and having ad-free options to make your playlist listenable without interruption… for the Premium.
Which brings me to my — as well as others — biggest con: Spotify’s “freedom of control” comes in two pairs: the free version, and “Spotify Premium.” For those who can afford premium, you get access to a wide variety of features: playing any song you want, on any playlist, ad-free, with the highest of qualities even when offline. In the free version, there’s only so much you can get away with before realizing the song you wanted to play sounds low quality before an ad snaps you back into reality, realizing that you missed one or two unplayable songs due to it being “free.”
If Spotify was ever to update its interface — adding more “premium” features to the free version, the summer time would be the perfect time to do so… which brings us to the ads below. Applying the principles of repetition and rhythm — matching Spotify’s premium features — I have created potential banner ads that can be displayed on the free version while we for that newest update.
