CJ Designs •
As graphic designers, part of our jobs include helping our clients enhance their brand identity. As such, it’s only natural that at some point, we need to establish our own.
This is the current logo.
-
The logo follows all aspects of what the main logo should be:
Professional — catches the attention of the audience without offense.
Versatility — can be used and applied to all aspects of design
Personality — the curvature of “CJ” gives off signs of both simplicity and attention to detail
Identifiable — the unique shape of “CJ” as well as the “I” combined with the sans serif fonts of “Design” makes the logo stand out in a subtle manner
Balance — The use and positioning of fonts and lettering create a sense of synergy
-
Depending on the client, such a logo can be seen in the following aspects:
Although versatile, “CJ Designs” can also imply the niche of the designer to be MAINLY graphic design
Personality can imply a balance of both serious and unserious; the intent can be mislead to it being more unserious.
More than one font is used for “Design”; could potentially lack uniform
Solution: Logo Update
Logo 1 - CJ Designs (UPDATED!)
-
Changed icon of “CJ” to pen drawing icon
Changed font of “CJ”
Changed font of “I”
Made “ESIGNS” lowercase
Included more color variations
-
“CJ Designs” sacrificed its versatility for more professionalism. Keeping the design name means tailoring the logo to fit the design image. As an alternative logo, this one will be more identifiable for purposes of graphic design in all forms. And adding a splash of color on the pen and pen marks adds extra personality without diving into the more unserious side.
Logo 2 - CJ Photography (NEW!)
-
Changed icon of “CJ” to camera icon
Changed font of “CJ”
Changed “DESIGNS” to “Photography”
Included more color variations
-
This logo serves the purpose of being an alternative logo used strictly for photography/videography purposes.
As such, changing the iconography to a camera captures a more ideal, professional image.
Logo 3 - CJ Coding (NEW!)
-
Changed icon of “CJ” to coding icon
Changed font of “CJ”
Changed “DESIGNS” to “{<Coding>}”
Added color variation
-
This logo serves the purpose of being an alternative logo used strictly for coding purposes.
As such, changing the iconography into what is called a “<body> tag” creates an ironic, but clever approach to the logo without sacrificing its professional image.
Adding an extra color of purple also creates more personality as opposed to a bland “singular color” concept.
Logo 5 - CJ Photography — Version 2.1 (NEW!)
Logo 6 - CJ Photography — Version 2.2 (NEW!)
-
Changed camera icon
-
The camera icon from “CJ Photography” depicts what I believe to be too realistic, making it distracting as a result from its surroundings.
Simplifying the iconography without making it lose its purpose gives it more personality when put side-by-side with its sister logos.
